Peace With Quilts is the first international quilt exhibition held in Turkey. Thus participating in such an important event is a real honor for the artists.

The exhibition was held on 3-10th June, 2000 in Ataturk Culture Hall in Ankara, Turkey. It was organized by GC Patchwork Studio with the support of Turkish Ministry of Culture. “Peace” theme was the inspiration of 3 Exhibition Quilts, that were the assembly of 20cmx20cm blocks, each made by a different quilter from all around the world. Mrs Okyar, along with all members of the GC Patchwork, is proud to have committed to this masterpiece.

Peace with Quilts event consisted of the exhibition of more than 300 quilts made by local and international quilters and quilt artists, classes of various techniques by reputed quilt instructors and mutually shared atmosphere of art, culture and peace.

The positive reactions she has received at this exhibition has binded her to the art of quilting more than before.
